Nordic Extraction (2022, 30 min) Exposed (2023, 10 min, premiere) Nordic Extraction (2022) explores Nordic themes through musical expression. The music delves into the idea of extracting or drawing out the Nordic essence. Exposed is inspired by a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke: Exposed on the Mountains of the Heart (Ausgesetzt auf den Bergen des Herzens). The work's three movements will premiere at this concert: Stone Ground Unknowing Herb Singing Regained Bird Circling Read more about the two works: Link to performances at Louisiana The concert is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, Koda Culture, Augustinus Foundation, William Demant Foundation, and Louis-Hansens Foundation. Ejnar Kanding's music focuses on the gradual change and exploration of tonal, modal, and harmonic structures. Described as New Inwardness or New Subjectivity, this genre of new classical music often explores deeply personal themes. The quartet's acoustic sound is transformed in real-time through MaxMSP software, creating a dual expression: the raw acoustic reality and the surreal electronic sound processing. Rudersdal Chamber Soloists have an international concert career, having collaborated with composer Giya Kancheli, who stated: "Rudersdal Chamber Players is an outstanding ensemble. All members are first-class instrumentalists with a responsive attitude and a deep understanding of the musical material. This is chamber music making at a very high level."
